NEW YORK — A new cartoon series by Doug Benson and the team behind the Nickelodeon sitcom “Family Guy” will tell the story of the two boys who have their own adventures in the cartoon world.
The duo are creating the Doug Benson-directed series, which debuts Oct. 30 on Nickelodeons digital streaming service.
The series will have Doug and his friends and family on the front lines of the ongoing fight for a better world, including a showdown with the evil Dr. Robotnik.
Benson and his team are using a team of artists to help bring this series to life.
It’s a project that Benson and co-creator Adam Schefter, the “Family” creators, had been working on for about a year, but it took them more than a year to get the first draft done.
“The show will be a true story that will be about a group of kids that are going to be a part of something really huge and have a chance to make a real difference,” Benson said in a press release.
“That’s the kind of thing that you can’t get anywhere else.”
The Doug Benson cartoon will debut on Nov. 17.
This is the first time Benson and his staff have brought the Doug show to the big screen.
The Doug Benson cartoons aired in 2013 on Nickelotv.
The show was canceled in 2014, but the series was revived on the channel last year.
The original Doug Benson was a writer, performer and actor, and a key member of the original “Family.”
Bennetts kids have been a key part of the “Robotnik” storyline, which was brought to life in a two-part pilot episode.
The duo created the Robotnik-driven cartoon “Robots of Wrestling,” which ran on the Cartoon Network from 2010 to 2013.
The Robotnik show was a massive success, drawing in millions of viewers and selling millions of toys and other products.
Benson also wrote and cohosted a “Robotic History” series on the Nickelotx channel from 2011 to 2013, which featured episodes about robot history.
I am honored to have the opportunity to make the Doug series for Nickelodeont, Benson said.
